On May 26, 2021, Jurassic Coast was included in the list of Seven Natural Wonders of the United Kingdom, a list of unique as well as geologically significant natural landmarks. While the list may have come recently, Jurassic Coast has for long been the sole World Heritage Site in England, selected way back in 2001 by UNESCO.

Located about 200 km south of London, the southern coast of England has for long been one of the best getaways for Londoners as well as other tourists, who usually flock here to enjoy the beautiful beaches and local breweries. The coast is also equally well-known for the 160-km long Jurassic Coast, that runs from Exeter to Dorset. Of course, there are no dinosaurs around, at least today. But a number of fossils, some of them dating back 185 million years, have been discovered here. The entire stretch is lined with beautiful natural wonders like the Durdle Door and the neighbouring Lulworth Cove. As good as it sounds, it is rather a task to visit both of them on foot, but the view is worth the miles, for sure.

Tourists often take a bus from Weymouth to Durdle Door and an upper deck front seat guarantees amazing views. The entire coastline with its hills and small English villages is a sight to behold and remember.

Weymouth is a small beach town famous for the harbour and its pubs and beaches. You will see people of all ages relaxing here with a lager and watching the sun dip and disappear in the Atlantic Ocean. A door knock away Durdle Door is famous for its unique natural rock shape, it seems as if the mainland has dipped its trunk in the water ever so slightly just to quench its thirst.

Lulworth Cove is a pond or a lake or the sea depending upon the time of the day. The beach has a small lake that has a small opening into the sea. The low tide makes it a pond that merges with the sea during the high tide.
