Turespaña launches ´Travel Safe´ microsite

Travel Safe also provides information about the likes of urban visits, nature travel and beach

Spain Tourism has launched Travel Safe, a microsite to help travellers organise their trip keeping in mind Covid-19 restrictions, as well as other preventive measures before, during and after the trip.

Spain’s tourism promotion body, Turespaña has launched a microsite Travel Safe, aimed at those planning to visit Spain with the objective of helping travellers and travel professionals organise their trips with up-to-date information regarding restrictions related to Covid-19, such as PCR tests, quarantines, regional border closures, mobility restrictions, restaurant capacity and other services.

Visitors can find answers to questions on how they can travel safely in Spain. Travel Safe also provides information about the likes of urban visits, nature travel and beach and sun stays.

Tourists wishing to visit Spain will be able to get reliable and updated information on exit requirements from their country of origin, entry requirements to Spain, general measures in place in Spain, as well as requirements to return to their country of origin. Detailed information on the specific measures in force in each autonomous community has also been made available.

Communication Strategy – Travel Safe. Travel Again.

The Travel Safe microsite is the cornerstone of Turespaña Travel Safe’s communication strategy – Travel safe. Travel again. A strategy designed to reinforce the perception of safety of the destination Spain, regain confidence in traveling and that Spain is a prescriber of safe travel. This strategy started in December 2020 and will remain active until international travel situation returns to the normal.

Together with the new interactive Travel Safe tool, Turespaña will continue to share travel safety measures across its social media channels through a campaign with influencers from the British, French, German, Italian and Portuguese markets. The campaign will encourage followers to visit the Travel Safe microsite so that they can consult all the information necessary for planning a trip to Spain.

A search engine marketing campaign will also be launched to position the Travel Safe microsite in search engines in the main source markets.

The Travel Safe microsite is integrated into the official tourism portal of Spain and in available in nine languages (English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Japanese and Spanish). Since its launch, the microsite has had over 2 million visits.

In addition to the new interactive map, Travel Safe microsite also tells tourists on how to travel and how to minimise the risk of contagion. Information is available in a variety of formats including downloadable checklists, articles, downloadable infographics, videos and guides.

The information is targeted at 50 source markets, including India, the United States, the United Kingdom, the UAE,  Saudi Arabia and fellow EU members.
